What Are the Benefits of Using a GREE Mini Split Multi Zone System?

GREE is one of the leading manufacturers of air conditioners in the world. Since the inception of the GREE Group in 1989, their products have been consistently in demand due to their reputation for being reliable, affordable, energy-efficient, and high quality.

Due to the increased focus on efficiency and waste reduction in recent decades, mini split air conditioning systems have risen to popularity in the U.S. The GREE Sapphire range of mini splits is renowned for being some of the most efficient systems on the market, boasting UP TO a 38 SEER efficiency rating.

Multi-zone mini split systems have a host of benefits, allowing for efficient heating and cooling in separate zones throughout a building. If you’re in the market for an air conditioner, it’s hard to look past the advantages that come with a GREE mini split system.

Efficiency

GREE mini splits are known for their efficiency. In the U.S., approximately 55% of the energy used in homes is on heating and cooling. Unfortunately, traditional ducted HVAC systems contribute to a significant amount of waste. In average houses with ducted systems, 20% to 30% of the air flowing through the ducting is lost because of holes, leaks, or connection points.

Users can expect as little as 1% to 5% energy loss with GREE mini splits, depending on the system and environment. These systems have a much smaller environmental impact than regular air conditioners and are Energy Star rated. Certain models, such as the Sapphire, Crown, and Crown+ splits, have SEER ratings as low as 30.

One of the most important considerations for maximizing efficiency is choosing the right size appliance. Depending on the size of each zone, indoor air handlers need to have a specific amount of British Thermal Units (BTUs).

Room-Specific Temperature Control

GREE multi-zone systems offer precise temperature control. They are available with multiple air handlers at a range of power options. For example, the GREE Multi21+ Penta Zone system comes with five separate air handlers, has 42,000 BTUs, and can regulate the temperature and airflow of rooms between 1,400 and 2,300 sq. ft

Each air handler can be installed in different zones and each has separate control settings. This allows users to set custom temperatures for each zone. If one area of the house tends to be warmer or cooler than others, the air handler can be set to a temperature that suits that particular section.

Other mini split options include a dual-zone GREE air conditioner, which comes with just two air handlers. These are better suited to smaller homes or areas, up to 1,300 sq. ft

Reduced Utility Costs

Boasting such high-efficiency levels, GREE systems can reduce your utility costs each year. Something that puts off many homeowners from installing a multi-zone mini split is the initial costs. Due to the technology within the appliances and the need to connect to your home’s refrigerant lines, purchasing and installation can be higher than other AC units. However, within a few years, the utility savings can pay for the extra upfront costs.

GREE mini splits use eco-friendly and energy-efficient technology. For example, the Multi21+ models are built with G10 inverter technology, enhancing system performance and increasing energy savings. G10 technology means that the compressor within the unit has variable speeds. This reduces intensive appliance restarts, lowering power consumption and helping preserve the unit for longer.

Extensive Product Range

It’s important to have multiple options when it comes to mini split systems. The number of units and the power capabilities of the air handlers are extremely important when choosing the right appliance. The level of technology and features of the different models are also key, depending on your home heating and cooling needs.

While some people are interested in high-performance, no-frills air conditioners, others are drawn to the latest technologies and features. GREE multi-zone systems are available in a range of models, including Multi21+, Multi+ Ultra, Super+ Multi, and Super+ Multi Ultra. These products have a host of excellent features, such as:

  • Quiet operating volume (as low as 56dB)
  • Eco-friendly R410A refrigerant
  • Self-diagnosis troubleshooting
  • Several fan speeds
  • Swing louver controls
  • Cleanable air filters
  • Dual controller options (remote and wired)
  • Automatic voltage adaption
