At ComfortUp, we carry mini splits from the industry’s top brands like Gree, Mitsubishi, Boreal, Panasonic, and LG. Each brand’s products are guaranteed to heat and cool your home in an efficient manner, but the occasional problem may still arise. Fortunately, we offer an extended product warranty in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty! We want to make sure our customers are well-informed in the event something goes awry with their system. Read below to learn more about our extended product warranties!

HVAC Extended Product Warranty

Manufacturer’s Warranty
All of our mini splits come with a manufacturer’s warranty. These cover damage to any parts of the mini split such as compressors or remote controls. Manufacturer’s warranties last anywhere from two to 12 years, but each brand offers a different warranty for their system. Gree, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, LG, and Boreal all offer varying levels of coverage for their products that depend on other factors such as installation date and specific make or model. Many also require the system to be in the same location as originally installed.
One downside of manufacturer’s warranties is that they ONLY cover costs for replacement parts. Labor costs are not addressed in manufacturer’s warranties, and these are usually much more expensive than the costs for parts. That’s why we offer our extended product warranties as a way of providing customers with additional coverage in the event of any mini split malfunctions!

Extended Product Warranty
We offer extended warranties for our single, dual, tri, quad, and penta zone mini split systems and they last for three, five, seven, or ten years. They cover labor costs for repair, but also cover part costs for any damage that happens outside of the manufacturer’s warranty. So let’s say your system is covered by a five year manufacturer’s warranty but you purchase a seven year extended warranty. The extended warranty would cover your parts AND labor costs for the full seven years!
We recommend purchasing the extended warranty simultaneously with your mini split system. The contract begins 30 days after purchase, but you can also buy extended warranties up to five years after system installation. Regardless of when you purchase the warranty, full price is collected and coverage is retroactive to the installation date. Any warranties for residential systems purchased one year or more from the installation date have a 90 day wait period, and claims or losses prior to or during the wait period will not be covered.
For your system to be eligible for warranty, it must be in good working condition at the time of purchase. We also must have accurate information regarding the installation date, as any damage from a pre-existing condition may lead to a denied claim. Warranties are purchased through ComfortUp but managed through AIG. After the warranty purchase and installation, ComfortUp will help you register your warranty directly with AIG. All claims go through AIG, and they will be the ones to send a contractor to handle any repairs or replacement.

Professional Installation, Shipping, and Labor Costs
All warranties also require professional installation to be active. When using a professional HVAC contractor, they follow all state and local laws and building codes during the installation process. Improper installation causes many other problems for your ductless mini split, as it leads to more frequent breakdowns, decreases the efficiency, and causes leaks. In turn, you end up spending more money in the long term by cheaping out and not using a professional HVAC contractor for your installation.
In the event something goes wrong with your system, ComfortUp has you covered...our extended product warranties will have your system working good as new! For any other questions concerning warranties, give us a call at 1-855-337-0001 or contact us online.
